This major PAINT THE CHANGE project, a 25 m x 12 m designed mural on and for the RICH MIX (East London cultural centre), is the answer to celebrate communities coming back together.
It contains more than 100 stories, portraits, objects submitted by the public, and collected through an open call, workshops and the Red church street festival, where photographer Nigel Glasgow set up an open photoshoot studio. All these are a representation of one’s identity: cultural, physical, emotional, material, religious, political, or philosophical. Every submission was then treated creatively, through a multitude of techniques: scanning, digital retouching, hand drawing. ATMA orchestrated and delivered the entire process, and the composition was designed as a metaphor for a thriving city life, where every component contributes to the global symphony.
